The Second-Best Desktop Photo Uploader Just Got Better

(Bruce Lewis) Millions of people are using Dropbox, a service that automatically backs up folders on your computer, and optionally lets you share folders with others. They even have a simple built-in photo sharing feature, so that you can just copy photos to a folder on your computer and they'll show up on the web. If you aren't connected to the Internet it will wait and upload them when you are, so it's great for traveling. They have the absolute best desktop photo uploader.

Not to be outdone, OurDoings set up integration with Dropbox. Check your "Upload Photos" page for a link to simple instructions. Since September 2009, a lot of people have been uploading their photos to OurDoings this way. It's so fast! You don't have to visit our web site, or even be connected to the Internet! And now it's a little better.

If you don't want the default headline (the date) over your photos, just make a subfolder named with the headline. This is super useful if you have a lot of photos from the same date and want to display them in more than one group.

Dropbox doesn't have all the photo-sharing features OurDoings has, but since you only need one account I'd call Dropbox the photo service with the best desktop photo uploader. OurDoings+Dropbox is second, because you need to register for both services to use it. What's third best? It's hard to tell, they're all way behind.

Enjoy!

Wireless Photo Frames Still Enjoyable Only With OurDoings

(Bruce Lewis) In March 2008 I wrote about my experience with a wifi photo frame, and the changes made to OurDoings that helped make that photo frame enjoyable.

Sadly, today many people still aren't enjoying these devices because they aren't using them in conjunction with OurDoings. Here's a review of the Kodak Pulse, which can't take advantage of OurDoings or other sites with Media RSS...Kodak has other models like the 820 that can.

"this frame is a share only meaning you can not save the pictures your receive. being a grandparent you like to save the pictures to your computer but you can not ,so this frame is a waste of money , it is better to buy just a digital frame.also another problem with the pulse frame is when pictures are sent to you there no way to rotate the picture so some of your pictures are vertical and some are horizontal , so in order to view the pictures you have to turn the frame from picture to picture.i am returning mine ."

OurDoings can feed just horizontal or just vertical photos, so you can leave the frame in one orientation for a long time and just enjoy it.

OurDoings can also combine feeds from multiple OurDoings sites, so a grandmother can see grandkids from more than one family easily. Do you know a grandmother who could be set up with OurDoings? Help her out. Make the world a happier place.
